Have you tried to Print and Cut on your Silhouette?!?

We interrupt this blog to bring you a message from Anna:

i will be teaching an Advanced Silhouette class next week. i hope you will come join us for some fun... all the details are below. and bringing chocolate is optional, but highly recommended...

Advanced Silhouette: Print & Cut Feature

Have you ever had that perfect embellishment but wanted more than one?
Or thought that the sticker was cute but wished that it was ten inches tall?
Or maybe you would love to have twenty or thirty identical embellishments for a project? With the silhouette print and cut feature these are all possibilities!

This feature allows you to print images on your home printer and then the machine will cut around them for you. Scrapbook page embellishments, cupcake decorations, valentines...the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. During this class, I will cover this topic and we will practice the print and cut feature so that you can make your own creations at home.

When: Tuesday, May 31st from 6:30-8:00 pm
Cost: $10.00 if you purchased your machine at Beach Scrapbooks, $18.00 if you purchased it elsewhere.
Supplies needed: your laptop (with the silhouette software loaded and updated) and silhouette machine.
Call 563-9009 to sign up!

Pre-Order Basic Grey 2012 Calendar Kit

I know it's only May, but Basic Grey is taking pre-orders for their popular 2012 calendar kit! Why now, you ask? Well...two years ago, the calendar was in HIGH demand but they didn't make enough for everyone to get one. People were upset, but it really didn't make sense for Basic Grey to order more because they knew that retailers (and customers) wouldn't buy them after the new year hit.

So...last year...they took pre-orders for their 2011 calendar. We pre-ordered ours in May and received them in September (which gives you plenty of time to complete it). We pre-ordered LOTS but still ran out. (It makes a GREAT Christmas gift!)

This year, we are inviting you to place YOUR pre-order so that we have a better idea of how many to order. If you are interested in pre-ordering a calendar, please call the store and ask that your name be put on the Basic Grey Calendar pre-order list. No money is due at this time, but pre-orders are expected to be honored when the calendars arrive in the Fall. Cost for the calendar is $19.99.

An Intro to Digital Photo Editing Basics!

Ever wonder why other people's photos look so sharp while yours are just *okay*? That's because many people do a little "touching up" to their photos before they are ever seen in public. Now...you can learn the same techniques!

We've put together a basic introduction class to editing your photos with Photoshop Elements (this is a free trial program so you can try before you buy - see store for details). If you’ve always wanted to know how to improve your digital photos, but have been a little scared to try, then this class is for you! And...if you have played a little with Photoshop but want to learn more, you will also love this class!

PhotoMojo is brought to you by Jodie Lee - you may have met her in our store for National Scrapbook Day. She's a graphic designer and photographer with 20 years experience using Photoshop. Jodie is from Australia but now lives in Virginia Beach. She has designed several scrapbook collections for Bo Bunny and Pink Paislee.

The class includes TWO, 2-hour sessions (May 28th AND June 4th). This gives you time in between classes to play and apply the skills you've learned.

Sign up NOW and get the early bird registration fee of $109. After may 16th, it goes up :)

A word from Tim Holtz...

We *finally* got our reorder of the new Tim Holtz Kraft Resist (paper) Stash! The first order arrived about a month ago and it sold out in ONE day...which means it never even made it to the blog...

But, it's back in stock now, so if you're interested...come and get it!

The following info about the new Kraft Resist papers was lifted straight from Tim's blog. There's also some information about his new Distress Stains, which we also have in stock.

Enjoy!

- kraft resist stash - i'm telling you now, this kraft resist cardstock will simply set your creativity into overload. printed on pure kraft cardstock in black with an accent image printed in a clear raised enamel which will resist inks, paints, and sprays; your distress inks have definitely found a new best friend. this paper stash includes 8 different 12x12 designs with 3 of each design - you're gonna be happy you have more than one of each sheet for this one.

-distress stains! these fluid water-based dyes are for papers and other porous surfaces and made from the same innovative distress formulation. use for quick and easy ink coverage for backgrounds and larger areas like tags, canvas, idea-ology trimmings, and of course the new kraft resist papers. mist with water to lighten color and create mottled effects or apply layers of stain to achieve more saturated color. the tip is a fabric covered dabber top with a built-in spring valve (like a stamp cleaner bottle). this allows for controlling the release of distress stains right from the bottle simply by pressing down onto surface. the valve opens and stain releases, then just lift away to stop the flow, or swipe lightly across the surface to spread out the stain. the distress stains coordinate the all of the other distress products including the embossing powders, crackle paint, stickles, and most importantly distress ink pads. i just love this new way to distress larger areas, fabrics, grunge, trimmings, wood and more in a matter of seconds. can you tell i'm out of control excited for these?....aghh!...t!m

available in 12 colors: spun sugar, fired brick, wild honey, peeled paint, forest moss, weathered wood

broken china, faded jeans, dusty concord, antique linen, vintage photo, walnut stain

Cricut Storage...back in stock!

These first arrived in the beginning of March and disappeared as quickly as they came. They've been on backorder for a while...but...these storage containers for your Cricut cartrides are now back in stock!

Here's an excerpt from the original blog post...

Many of you have the plastic Art Bins...you know...the ones that hold a bazillion pieces of paper and stack on top of each other? Well...they just introduced a brand new one for all you Cricut users! Check out the picture...you put 16 cartridges on one side and your booklets on the other. AND...it has green tabs so you can easily identify it when it's stacked with your other bins. Clever, eh?!?
