Are you feelin' the Love?

Introducing the newest tool by QuicKutz...the Revolution Love! This sexy little machine will be in our store this Fall, just in time to start thinking about Christmas presents!

Here's some things you'll love about it:

1. It will cut ALL competitor's dies, even Sissix and Cuttlebug. Now, you'll only need one die cutting machine to use with all your dies!

2. The cutting mat is 9"x13" so future dies can be much bigger.

3. Want dies that cut chipboard or grungeboard? It's all in the future, baby!

4. It plugs in and only weighs 15 pounds.

5. It does not take the place of your Revolution; it nicely compliments it! Plus, your Revolution is much more portable.

6. All this for only $159.99!

Best of all, we're implementing a LAYAWAY plan for the Love! Pay any time and any amount between now and October 15th. Ask an associate for details!

Love it, Love it, Love it!

Good morning, Sunshine!

Do I have your attention!?! This steamin' hunk from "Lost" wanted you to know about the new Reminisce lines we received at the store!

I spoke to a few of you the other day and you were working on Halloween photos. Well, we've received the new Scare Tactics and Enchanted Autumn lines as well as the new Frosted line from one of our favorite vendors. I'm so far behind in my scrapbooking that I actually dressed my youngest in his costume from last year and took some photos to use with the new Halloween line...it's that cute!

If you can tear your eyes away from Mr. Hotty, come on in and check out these new lines!

Back at the beach...

Hi everyone! We're home...safe and sound :) It was a late night and a bit of a bumpy plane ride, but we're back and looking forward to seeing you all. There is so much to tell you about CHA, but I think I'll let this slideshow speak for itself. We tried to take lots of pictures of products, layouts, altered items and cards so that you could see what's coming and get some ideas for your own projects. There's also a few "celebrity" photos in there....Tim Holtz, a designer from KI Memories, the founders of L'il Davis, Claudine Hellmuth (a collage artist), and the founder of Pink Paislee (a NEW addition to our store!). Overall, we took over 1,000 pictures! But, we didn't take pictures of everything so there are still a few surprises in store for you:)

One thing to remember about this new product (as well as existing product) is that we typically don't reorder any papers or embellishments. If it's a really popular item, like travel, Disney or beach related, we sometimes reorder. So...if you like what you see, get it while the gettin' is good! We pride ourselves in keeping our store "fresh", as opposed to big box stores that carry the same paper all the time. All the new items that you see here will be arriving over the next 4 months.

You will start seeing the Halloween and Christmas paper very soon! For those who are interested, Jody has a Christmas Cards in July class this Sunday at 12:30. Start now and you could be finished with all your holiday cards by December 1st!

And, speaking of Jody, today's her birthday! Have a great day, Jody - you deserve it!!

REMINDER: if you are a QuicKutz Club member, our meeting is Tuesday (tomorrow) night!

(Congratulations to mom2deacon for winning the brand new Bazzill Brads! They'll be waiting for you at the store!)

Bazzill, Butterflies, Butts and Basic Grey!

So much to say and so little energy! We are WIPED out!

Let's begin with Halloween. I'm giving you head's up that practically every Halloween line has purple in it this year. Whatever costume you're thinking about, make sure it has a hint of purple so that it matches your layout :) After all, it's all about the paper - right?!? Of course, there are other papers without purple, but that seems to be the hot color for the spooky season.

Christmas...we've seen all kinds of cute Christmas paper. Lots of classic, lots of modern and lots of in-between.

Die cut papers...LOTS and LOTS of die cut papers this year in practically every theme. Cute, cute, cute!

Birds...still very popular this year. We ordered a few collections with owls and birds. There's even a transparency from Hambly Studios with bird cages on it - cute! I know it's not a bird, but butterflies are also EVERYWHERE!

Basic Grey - EVERY single new paper has been ordered! AND, we got a good order number so we'll get it fast! Be glad there are no pictures of me running to their booth on Friday because that would be a little embarrasing for both me AND you!

Bazzill - WOW! Lots of cool new stuff from Bazzill. First, there are new In-Stitch'z templates: Christmas, flowers, birthday, BIG circles, BIG flowers (in 8x8 templates) and an alphabet! Also: Dotted Swiss paper (think of little embossed dots all over the paper), Just the Edge borders (waves, stars, butterflies, flowers and more), 3 millimeter brads, and new ribbon. And...my favorite...TULLE ribbon! What a great idea for your layouts and cards! Make sure you look at the sample layouts in the slide show. 12 colors of Tulle are comin' your way! Oooohhh...more cool products from Bazzill - acrylic paper (they call it Plastic Paper and it is PERFECT for QuicKutz shapes or acrylic albums!!) and mirrored paper in gold and silver.

Now, on to the butts. We loved reading your comments and emails on the booty-licious pictures from yesterday. And, yes, all work and no play just doesn't work for us!! Now that the 3 QuicKutz guys are world famous thanks to our blog, some of the other QuicKutz men wanted in on the action. They were trying their best to show us their tushes - in fact, they were dropping things on the floor so that they would have to bend over to pick them up. (Seriously Steve, we're SO on to your tricks!) You'll see what I mean in the pictures. I'm thinking we might have enough to do a Men of QK Calendar soon :) Seriously though, those guys are adorable and always make us laugh!

Tomorrow, we've still got a ton of booths to visit and then we're boarding a plane at 9:30 p.m. for our trip back to the beach. Let's hope that tropical storm Cristobal does not force us to be stranded in the O'Hare airport! I'm a little nervous about it...my husband told me that it's supposed to hit the Outer Banks around 8. If we do get stranded, is anyone up for watching my kids on Monday?!?! Pray for clear skies and a smooth flight :)

One of the booths we're visiting tomorrow is EK Success. Sooo...let's put all the Jolee's stickers on sale! For Sunday only, all Jolee's stickers are 30% off! When checking out, mention "EK is OK!" to receive your discount.

Since we won't be home until after midnight tomorrow (we hope!!), there won't be a blog update. Check back on Monday though for more pictures. And, who knows, maybe more booty!

(Congratulations to 'tj' for winning the SEI t-shirt and thanks for your message. Your shirt will be waiting for you after we get back. Leave a comment on this post for a chance to win a FREE set of 90 mini brads from Bazzill!)

Fun filled Friday!

Boy, are we tired tonight! From 9 this morning to 6 this evening, we were walking, talking, shopping and ordering! Thank God for Fiber One bars, because it was the only food we ate all day long. After the show, we went out for some tasty Chicago pizza with Cheryl, the manager extraordinaire from Scrapboodles in Fredericksburg. One of the nice things about going to these shows is that we get to talk to other store owners and managers. It's always interesting to hear what other stores are doing so that we can think outside our little box. We've had some ideas that we've wanted to do in our store, so we've been asking other stores for their experience and advice. I won't spoil the surprises now, but look for some exciting things over the next few months!

On to the new product! The slideshow shows a sampling of what we bought today - all of which will be arriving in our store over the next few months. I'll give you some highlights...lots of cool, new papers from Bo-Bunny including new Fall colors in the Double Dots collection, BIGGER My Word Albums (one is all arrows!) and awesome new acrylic albums.

Then there's Ranger. Our staff had a Ranger training session last Sunday and learned LOTS of fun uses for the Ranger products. In fact, Courtney is having a class at the end of this month called Don't Stress - Distress! You will be amazed at what you can do with the Distress Inks. Have you been only using them to distress the edges of your paper? If so, then you must take this class!! Anyway...Tim Holtz was there doing his usual demonstrating. After talking with him a bit, we told him that some of the ladies from our store are fascinated with him. In fact, I was given instructions to squeeze his butt if I had the chance!!! Those who know me, know that I would NEVER do such a thing as I am very shy and quiet. In our never ending quest to make our customers happy, we did ask for a picture of his booty! I think he was embarrased, but deliver, he did! Enjoy ladies :) By the way, we are getting lots of new Ranger products including inks, reinkers, Perfect Pearls, new Stickles colors, new metallic crackle paints, grungeboard books and new grungeboard shapes. What fun!

For those stampers out there, get ready for Erin's Changito class! That's right...all the stamps featuring that cute little monkey are comin' your way :)

I'll skip to the best part of the day...QuicKutz! As you've probably seen, they released 13 new fonts! 2 cookie cutters, 5 2x2s, and 6 4x8s. Can you believe the price on the 4x8s???!!! With a QuicKutz Club discount, it comes to $32. That's $32 for an alphabet! They have really listened to their customers who have asked for more reasonably priced alphabets. THANK YOU QUICKUTZ!!

The storage solution for QuicKutz ships in September. To answer your questions, YES it does fit the current QuicKutz storage sheets. It's a great way to store ALL sizes of dies in one place.

Also new for Silhouette users - bright, new Vinyl colors and inks for sketching. Come by the store for a demo when they arrive!

Now...the Revolution Love. First, you gotta love the name! Second, the Revolution Love will allow you to use ANY competitor's dies in it...even the Sissix and Ellison. That's not the most exciting part about it though...the future of dies is so wiiiide open now...VERY exciting. (QuicKutz Club members...you will hear more about this at Tuesday's club meeting!) The GREAT news about the Revolution Love is that we are going to offer a layaway plan for it!! It will ship in October. Stay tuned for details. (By the way, did you see the giant parentheses in the pictures?? They were cut using the Love!)

And, while we're talking about love, who doesn't love the men of QuicKutz! Not wanting to be outdone by Tim Holtz, they offered up their backsides just for you :) Brian, Kyle and Kris...we love ya!

Well, ladies, the season premiere of Psych is on TV so I must bring this to a conclusion. Tomorrow brings a new day and lots more shopping. One of the vendors we are visiting will be My Little Yellow Bicycle (MLYB). And, speaking of MLYB, Saturday brings you 30% off all MYLB paper and embellishments, including Zach's Life and the new Bella Vista! Mention "Butts & Bikes" to get your discount :) This offer is good for Saturday only.

Also...leave a comment for us on the blog (because we miss you!) and we'll pick a winner for a free SEI t-shirt!

Good night and sweet dreams :)

We're heeeeeere!!!

Hello from the windy city of Chicago! It's really not all that windy here, but it sure is hot :) We got the chance to see new products today and hear about new products being introduced tomorrow.

First...the slideshow. It's a bunch of pictures taken today at the Fiskars and Creative Imaginations events. It doesn't even remotely represent what we bought...if it did, I'd be up all night downloading pictures! I will tell you that there are several new lines that are uber cute! The Creative Imaginations army man line is a must have for any little boy who plays with army men. We spoke with the designer of that line...she said that her inspiration for the collection was that her husband was an Army helicopter pilot and her son always played with those little green army men. For whatever reason, we didn't get a picture of that collection but will get over there again tomorrow and snap a few more! More new collections include: EMT, police, fire, LEGOS (watch for an upcoming contest sponsored by LEGO!), lots of Christmas, lots of Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall, wine, cooking, boys/kids, animal, cowboy/cowgirl, golf and fishing. Again, there's more, and you will see them all in due time! You'll also note in the slideshow that Fiskars has come out with Limited Edition holiday punches...cats, pumpkins, candy corn and ghosts for Halloween and more for Christmas...VERY cute! One trend that we are seeing is lots of die cut paper...die cut spider webs for Halloween, snowflakes for winter, paper with dolphins and turtles around the border, die cut jungle leaves and paper with all sorts of decorative edges. A popular color so far today has been purple...we've seen it in Halloween papers and Valentine collections. We'll see if that continues to be a trend. By the way, when we weren't stuffing our faces at the chocolate fountain, we got to play with the Creative Imaginations staff. They were all dressed up as kids - to go along with the Lego contenst they are promoting. One guy was dressed up as Yosemite Sam and the president was wearing bib overalls with bling all over them! In fact, Jack (the president) paid me $20 to move away from the chocolate fountain. He said other people wanted to eat, too. (Okay, kidding!) One last thing about the slide show, you have to look at the flowers first :) The conference center here has all sorts of beautiful flowers planted everywhere. I couldn't help but take a few pics on the walk over!

Second...we also attended SEI's event tonight. For the first time in a year, we will be bringing in a few of their lines. Their puffy spiders for Halloween are too cute! Sorry, no pictures...we were too tired!

Third...QuicKutz. Their release is tomorrow morning (I think it's at 10:00 eastern time). Check out their website as we'll be on the show floor all day and not able to report in a timely fashion! We have NOT seen this release yet but have heard the buzz while at CHA. The suspense is killing me!!! Also, check their website for their CHA camera...in February, they had one taking real time videos all day long. Our appointment is at 3:00 eastern time...look for us! We'll wave :)

Fourth...Bazzill and Basic Grey. Saw illegal copies of sneak peeks tonight! Bazzill is coming out with some cool new cardstock papers and tulle ribbon! One of their paper lines is going to have embossed dots in it...another is going to be mirrored paper available in gold and silver. Also, there are lots of new borders available in new colors, new In Stitch'z patterns (including different size circles, Christmas shapes and an alphabet!) and new plastic paper. More on Bazzill later! (How's that for a tease?!?!) About Basic Grey...I only saw a quick peek at their new release. I was told that they are guarding their collections, so I will honor that wish and not reveal any scoop here. Once again, we will have to make the mad dash to the booth tomorrow to get a good number. (The number represents your shipping order....the better the number, the quicker we'll get our product!). All I can say is there are 5 new lines (I think that's what I remember seeing)!

In honor of me doing the mad dash tomorrow morning (I only run this fast twice a year at the CHA shows and maybe a third time if wasps are attacking), mention MAD DASH when you check out and ALL BASIC GREY PAPER AND EMBELLISHMENTS ARE 30% OFF!!!! Sorry, tools and cutting mats are excluded. This is for Friday only and no other discounts apply.

Wish us luck for Friday - it's going to be a looong, fun-filled day. Gotta go charge my camera battery! Bye!

FABULOUS layout for only $12!!

Creative Cardstock: Patriotic Theme

Thursday July 10th with Amy
6pm to 8pm

ONLY $12!!

Can't find paper to match your pictures occasionally? I know I can't! That's why I've started using cardstock and Quickutz to make my own designs!

This month's theme is, of course, patriotic. You can use this layout for Memorial Day, 4th of July, a visit to Washington DC or any military occasion. Customize your title in class to fit the theme of your pictures!

You bring: your paper trimmer, Quickutz Squeeze and star icon die (RS-0562) (both optional if you don't have them), scrapbooking adhesive, Xyron X, glue pen, tweezers, a see-through ruler and your photos. Check out the layout above to help you decide what kind of photos to bring (four 4x6 horizontal). And if you're still not sure which pictures you'd like to use, bring in a whole set and we can figure it out as we go. The best thing about scrapbooking is that there are no rules.
See you in class!
